5. A decorated Cup Cake

 

ADULTS

BAKING

6. Competition cake, using recipe opposite

7. 3 egg Victoria Sandwich with jam filling

8. 4 Cheese Scones

9. 6 Jam Tarts

10. 6 pieces of Shortbread

PRESERVES

11. Jar of Lemon Curd

12. Jar of Marmalade

13. Jar of Strawberry Jam

14. Jar of Chutney of your own choice

HORTICULTURE

15. 1 Spike of Delphinium in a container

16. 3 Roses of one variety

17. 3 sprays of Floribunda Roses of one variety

18. 5 stems of Sweet Peas

19. Foliage Pot Plant

20. Flowering Pot Plant

21. 9 Gooseberries arranged on leaves

22. 1 Lettuce with roots

FLORAL ART

23. Fragrant Posy of flowers & herbs, not exceeding 5" diameter

24. Small arrangement in an unusual watertight container

25. Jug of mixed flowers

26. Arrangement in a wine glass

Chocolate Cake Recipe

Ingredients

6 oz Margarine

6oz Castor Sugar

7 oz Self Raising Flour

1 level teaspooon of Baking Powder

1 oz Cocoa

2oz Plain melted Chocolate

3 eggs

1 1/2 fluid oz Milk

 

Method

1. Cream margarine & sugar

2. Add eggs gradually

3. Add sieved flour, baking powder, cocoa & melted chocolate

4. Add Milk

5. Place the mixture in an 8" round greased and greaseproof lined cake tin

6. Cook at 150c for 1/2 hour, 140c for approx 40 mins

7. Cool

8. Coat with Chocolate Icing of your choice
