Three Counties Walk 2011
The 2011 Walk Presentation evening on 30th June was seriously afflicted by its unfortunate timing on the first of two days of rolling power cuts but the show did go on despite the absence of the usual slide show. The weather was beautiful and the 470 walkers had a wonderful day, enhanced by great après-walk entertainment from the superb Linton Jazz Orchestra and a young and talented band called Turkey Street. Our walkers and sponsors raised a net total of £9,000 - £3000 for each cause – Addenbrooke’s Paediatric Gastroenterology Dept, Linton Health Centre and Bartlow Church restoration. Top Fundraisers were Joy Potter of West Wickham (£211) and Grace Launchbury (aged 4) (£133.50), her small self living proof of the important and excellent contribution made by the Paediatric Gastroenterology unit. We plan that next year’s Addenbrooke’s cause will relate to Dementia treatment and research.
